Kangoo wins a trio of top industry awards
Renault Kangoo and Kangoo E-Tech electric have added a trio of awards to the model’s bulging trophy cabinet after winning at the What Van? Awards 2024 and the DrivingElectric Awards 2024 in the UK.
Kangoo won the ‘Compact Van of the Year’ category at the What Van? Awards, while Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric took home the ‘Electric Van of the Year’ award at the same ceremony. The pure-electric light commercial vehicle added to its success by also winning ‘Best Electric Van’ at the DrivingElectric Awards.
It is the third consecutive year that Kangoo has won the ‘Compact Van of the Year’ category at the annual What Van? Awards, previously winning the title at the 2023 and 2022 events.
The triple award win reaffirms Kangoo’s class-leading status, illustrating how it is the best option for small van customers regardless of whether they are opting for conventional ICE or pure-electric power.
On What Van? awarding Kangoo for an amazing third year in a row, James Dallas, Editor of What Van?, said: “Boasting a wealth of innovative and practical features the Renault Kangoo raised the bar in the compact van sector and continues to set the benchmark for others to aspire to.”
The website was equally impressed with the zero-emissions-in-use Kangoo E-Tech electric, adding: “Led by Renault, compact vans pioneered the transition to electrification and remain the most effective exponents of the technology. The Kangoo E-Tech electric made a big step up compared to its predecessor in terms of its range and practicality; it is well-thought out, refined and ideal for urban missions.”
Speaking about Kangoo E-Tech electric, the DrivingElectric judges commented: “They will serve as a great introduction to electric commercial vehicles for businesses making the switch.”
Kangoo is available in Australia with the short wheelbase 100% electric powertrain and will welcome the petrol powertrain and a long wheelbase format later in 2024.
It offers a large suite of driver assistance systems, with the standard specification including the EASY LINK infotainment system with 8-inch touchscreen, DAB radio with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, automatic headlights and automatic windscreen wipers, smartphone integration with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, automatic climate control air conditioning and a 3-point height-adjustable driver’s seat.
Glen Sealey, General Manager of Renault Australia says “While an electric Kangoo has been available in Australia since 2014 , all-new Kangoo E-Tech 100% electric, in both short- and long-wheelbase variants and with a range of option packs, ensures we can meet customer expectations for environmentally-conscious, last-mile delivery solutions for a range of small businesses.”
The pure-electric Kangoo E-Tech short wheelbase offers a load volume of 3.3m3 and a driving range of up to 286km (WLTP).
Kangoo sits alongside the Trafic and Master models in the long-established range of award-winning Renault light commercial vehicles.
